2020 Lansing Train Show Cancelled
It is with deep regret and sadness that the Lansing Model Railroad Club announces the cancellation of the Lansing Train Show and Sale scheduled for November 22, 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the uncertainty it has caused this year. Out of an abundance of caution our members feel this is the best course of action for the safety of all those who attend our show to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Plus, volunteer club member work, financial investment, and long lead time for event promotion for our annual train show and sale would begin now. This is a risk our small organization cannot take should the event ultimately be forced to cancel by the State of Michigan or Michigan State University (MSU).
As of this writing the MSU Pavilion will only allow 10 patrons into the facility at a time. According to phase 6 of the governor's MI Safe Start Plan, large gatherings would not occur until community spread of COVID-19 is not expected to return because of community immunity and the availability of treatment. Unfortunately, we do not see this happening this fall. We also assume that strict social distancing and other requirements will still be in force making it very difficult for our small organization to manage and implement for one of the largest model train shows in the state.
We sincerely apologize the inconvenience this may cause those who attend our annual train show and sale. Refunds have been sent to those that had already reserved tables.
We look forward to your attendance at the Lansing Train Show and Sale when it returns in 2021.
